My Background

I earned a B.S. in Exercise Science with honors at Georgia State University in 2000, and a Masters degree in Physical Therapy at Western Carolina University in 2004, where my classmates presented me with the Leadership Award.  Since then, I have worked as a PT throughout western NC with patients of a wide spectrum of ages and diagnoses in a diverse range of settings:  hospitals - nursing homes - private homes - outpatient clinics.

In addition to being knowledgeable of orthopedics, neurologic disorders, and general movement issues, I have advanced training and experience treating vertigo (spinning sensation) and other dizziness and balance issues. I am an Astym certified clinician, which means I have the tools and training needed to provide the only regenerative rehab therapy known at this time. I'm able to work with you whether you are very limited in function, an athlete, or somewhere in between. I bring knowledge of exercise physiology, strength training, yoga, and movement practice. I've been an avid cyclist for over 30 years, was a bicycle mechanic for 17 years, and can help you with bicycle fitting, cycling specific issues, or entry to the sport.

I have a passion for manual techniques that involve hands on therapy to mobilize soft tissues and joints. This is very helpful to facilitate healing, for structural/postural improvement, and treatment of pain and dysfunction due to acute and chronic issues. I am continually increasing my array of skills and efficacy via specially selected continuing education courses and self study.

Why would you choose me as your physical therapist?
